Lofthouse Antiques Collection › Grandfather Clock by 'Wainwright of Nottingham', 30-Hour. (SOLD)

Grandfather Clock by 'Wainwright of Nottingham', 30-Hour. (SOLD)

Sale Price: £625.00 Original Price: £725.00

This is a well proportioned 30-hour round dial clock with painted face, made by the well known Nottingham clock maker.

The circular dial has Roman and Arabic numerals, and a painting of an exotic bird above the centre. The sad-mouth date aperture is in working order. Please note: some restoration has been done to a small area of the face which had suffered paint loss.

The movement is clean and in good working order. It rings to a bell on the hour, and keeps good time.

The hood has a mahogany face and oak sides. It has a break arch with brass finial with castellations beneath. There is a little damage to a few of the side castellations but this is barely noticeable. The hood is supported on wooden pillars with brass cappings, the door having a brass knob.

The oak trunk is simple and in good condition. The door has a brass escutcheon and a working lock and key.

H = 80” W = 18.25” D = 9”
