Lofthouse Antiques Collection Premium Collection: George III Grandfather Clock (SOLD)

Premium Collection: George III Grandfather Clock (SOLD)

£1,250.00

This is one of our Premier Range of clocks and as such will have had the following work done by a professional clock restorer: the movement completely disassembled and cleaned; cogs checked, alligned and teeth reset; pinions bushed where necessary; pallet refaced and angled; pallet drop adjusted; any other necessary repairs made. This means we are able to offer a 10-year guarantee on the movement, subject to it being appropriately serviced.

This 8-day clock dates from about 1790.

The case is a medium oak and is crossbanded and parquetry strung, and inlaid with roundels, shaded shells and floral-filled urns. It has a shaped apron and bracket feet.

The hood is arched and the top is inlaid to the centre with a floral filled urn within an oval. It has a pair of brass-capped pillars

The enamel dial is arched and painted to the top with swans. The spandrels are bat-winged. The dial is cream with Arabic numerals. It has a seconds dial and a calendar aperture. As to be expected with an original dial of this age, there is a little degradation in places.

An attractive clock which will give years of service.

Height = 216cm.
