Grandfather Clock by 'John Rayment of Huntingdon,' 8 Day. (SOLD)

£699.00

JOHN RAYMENT of HUNTINGDON

This is a petite 8-day oak clock which would look very nice in a cottage setting.

The face is by 'John Rayment' – a well-documented clock maker working around 1750 – the clock has been well looked after throughout it's life and very nicely proportioned.

It has a brass face with a matted centre and silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals.

The movement is clean and in good condition and strikes to the hour on a bell.

The case is of medium oak colour and is sound. The hood is supported on wooden pillars, has blind fretwork to the top and glazed panels to the sides.

The full-length door has a brass escutcheon and a working lock and key.

Overall, a lovely antique clock that is in full working order ready for it's new home!

H = 73.5”  W = 17”  D = 8.75”
